The heart of a missions organization is the mission itself.  Aid Sudan’s mission probably could be summarized by saying they provide spiritual and physical development to the people of South Sudan by giving them the Gospel, clean water, and community development–health/hygiene and education.

Now obviously that’s overly simplified.  Aid Sudan works very hard to develop programs and set up mission trips which will benefit the people of South Sudan, but not create a culture of dependency.  They also work very hard to keep the development as indigenous as possible by sending in Sudanese missionaries and by training community/church leaders to really take the lead.  And most importantly, Aid Sudan wishes to see the nation of South Sudan completely transformed by the powerful Word of God; complete and utter dependence on Him in all ways.  Everything they do is for His glory.

Then there are the people who make up the organization.  Aid Sudan is a family, and Blaise and I have been incredibly blessed by the individuals who work for and minister through Aid Sudan.  My favorite thing about them is that no decisions–big or little–are made without first praying.  Prayer is so powerful, and it is at the core of Aid Sudan’s work.

Over the next several posts, hopefully you will gain a better understanding of what they do and how they do it!

Here are a couple more pictures from previous trips to South Sudan!
