Not a whole lot has been happening lately. Every time I talk to my grandma she asks if there have been any new developments in my trip plans…nope, not yet. Everything remains the same for now.
However, as it is April 1st (Happy April Fool’s Day), this new month will bring news. The team leader will return home from Sudan and we will begin solidifying training and travel dates. I will be getting my immunizations (yes, I was going to do it sooner, but I’m chicken!). I will also begin purchasing some needed items…you should see the list in the training manual!! Along with their recommendations which include sunscreen, bugspray, and rain gear, I am purchasing a cheap zoom lens and an all-weather camera backpack for my photography gear. I also still have to pick up a serious hiker’s backpack for my 33 lbs. of the stuff I will be carrying into Sudan…I don’t want to mess with luggage…I want it all on my back!
Anyway, all of those things will be happening soon…probably sooner than I’ll be ready for, but I am excited to begin seeing this trip materialize and the plans come together.
Right now, I continue to work on fundraising (thank you to those who have already contributed!!) and try to get my hiney into shape!
